  • 4 Mission Supersoft Wholegrain Wraps

  • 150g Gula Melaka, cut into small pieces

  • 9 tbsp Water

  • 5 Pandan leaves, washed and tied into a knot

  • 30g Plain flour

  • 1/8 tsp Salt

  • 450ml Thick coconut milk

  • 6 Ripe bananas (“pisang emas” or “pisang raja”), peeled and cut into 1½ cm slant-wise

  • Step 1

    Bring Gula Melaka, water and pandan leaves to boil. Strain and re-boil in a clean pot into a sugar syrup.

  • Step 2

    In a small bowl, mix together plain flour and salt. Gradually add in coconut milk and stir well. Strain into the sugar syrup.

  • Step 3

    Add the bananas and stir gently.

  • Step 4

    Let it come to a boil and cook for about a minute. Remove from heat.

  • Step 5

    Cut the wraps into desired sizes and bake in a preheated oven at 160⁰C for 10 – 12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with banana sauce.

    Tips:

    • Use ripe bananas for extra sweetness and nutrients.

    • Buy a good quality Gula Melaka that is dark brown in colour with a soft centre.
